Mingo is a social app that allows users to create profiles, join groups, and chat. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect your data.

Firebase AuthFirestorePush (FCM)

Information We Collect

Account & Profile

  • Email address, password*, and name
  • First name, last name, gender, date of birth/age, city, language, short bio
  • User settings (e.g. whether full name/age should be visible in profile)
  • Device/app token for push notifications (FCM token)

*Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us in plain text.

Social Features

  • Friends (id, name, labels, tags)
  • Chats & messages (text, timestamp, sender, read receipts)
  • Groups & events/parties: activity, title, location, time, member list, roles, applications, attendance/"no-show" votes

Metadata

  • Creation/update timestamps, version fields, attendance statistics (shows/no-shows)

How We Use the Information

  • To create and manage your account and profile
  • To provide core features: friends, groups, applications, chats, and notifications
  • To maintain safety and reliability in groups (e.g., attendance/no-show tracking)
  • To communicate important updates and operate the app’s functionality

Storage & Location

  • Data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and FCM if applicable).
  • All data is transmitted securely using TLS.
  • Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes via Firebase Auth.

Sharing With Third Parties

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We only share data with service providers necessary to operate the app (e.g., Google Firebase), and only when required by law.

Your Choices & Rights

  • You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data.
  • When deleting your account, your profile data is removed; however, messages you sent may remain for other users where they form part of their chat history.

Children

Mingo is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.
